Don’t buy the iPhone 13 nor the iPhone 13 Pro

Buying one of the iPhone 13 models right now is not a smart choice

So this is something everyone struggles with when a new Apple device gets released. You’re about to buy a new MacBook, iPad, AirPods, or whatever and suddenly you read all kinds of rumors about the release of an updated version of that device.

And now, you might be asking yourself the same thing. Should you just go ahead and buy the iPhone 13 now or wait a couple of months and buy the new iPhone 14 (or iPhone 14 Pro)?

Well, the answer is not quite easy to give. And this is not me prolonging this article to deliver more content.

To answer this question we need to look at a couple of variations.

Do you need an iPhone right now?

The very first question you should ask yourself is whether you need an iPhone right now or not. Do you already own a smartphone and can that smartphone hold up a decent amount of time before its battery gets drained?

If so, then you don’t have to burn $800 on the iPhone 13. At least not yet. Because if your current phone is working fine, then you only want to buy a new iPhone because you crave a new shiny object.

And that’s not a good reason to buy a new phone right before the launch of a new one.

What is the battery life of your current phone?

The second thing I always look at before advising someone whether to buy a new iPhone is the battery capacity of their current phone.

Does their current phone need power juice every half hour? Can they watch a video, play a game, and take pictures without worrying about their battery life?

If the answer to these questions is yes, then definitely go for the current iPhone 13. But if this is not the case, then just wait for the iPhone 14.

The camera of your current phone is most likely fine

All smartphones that are now being used in the world should have a decent camera. I can’t imagine there is a smartphone right now that takes pictures with the graphics of Minecraft (nothing wrong with Minecraft, though).

But if in case you own such a smartphone then, by all means, buy the current iPhone 13. If not, and most likely your camera is decent, then just stick with your current phone and wait for the iPhone 14.

Believe me, it’s worth the wait.
